Iraqi breakfast at Kabab Erbil is served from 09:00 every day at our Al Muraqqabat branch in Deira, Dubai, and our Al Taawun branch in Sharjah. At its centre is kahi, a flaky pastry we bake in-house, eaten with thick geymar cream and honey or date syrup, alongside makhlama, bajila tashreeb and eggs.
An Iraqi breakfast is a shared table that is sweet and savoury at once. Kahi and geymar sit in the middle, and the savoury dishes go around them: makhlama, eggs scrambled with minced meat, tomato and onion; bajila tashreeb, bread soaked in a slow-cooked fava-bean broth; eggs with pastirma; and warm balila chickpeas. Each dish on the list below shows what it is and its price today.
Our kahi is baked in our own kitchen, so it arrives warm and layered rather than reheated. The geymar is made from cow or buffalo milk, depending on supply, and comes from a private supplier. Kahi is served with honey or date syrup to pour over the cream. If you want to know more about the pairing itself, read how to eat kahi and geymar, or how geymar compares with British cream in geymar vs clotted cream.
For a table of people, the Iraqi breakfast tray brings kahi with geymar, eggs, cheese and bread together on one tray, so everyone takes from the middle. It is the easiest way to order for a family or a group of friends on a weekend morning.
In Dubai, our Al Muraqqabat branch in Deira is about 500 m from Al Rigga Metro. In Sharjah, our Al Taawun branch is in the Al Khan area. Both open at 09:00. If you would rather eat at home, every dish here can be ordered from the list below for delivery across Dubai and Sharjah.
