Dubai or Sharjah? Choosing Between Our Two Branches

Both Kabab Erbil branches cook the same Iraqi menu and open daily from 09:00 to 03:00. The decision is not about the food — it is about where you are. Deira suits you if you are in Dubai or arriving by metro; Al Taawun suits you if you are in Sharjah or coming from the northern emirates. Neither is the "main" one.

Deira — Al Muraqqabat

The original, trading on 10 Al Muraqqabat Street since 2003, in the part of old Dubai where the Iraqi community has eaten for decades. It is walking distance from Union Metro, which makes it the easier choice without a car and the obvious one for visitors staying in Deira or Bur Dubai. Call +971 4 272 0843.

This is also the busier room. On a Thursday or Friday evening expect a wait — it is the branch Iraqi families default to, and the queue is the reason.

Sharjah — Al Taawun

The second branch sits on Al Taawun Street in Al Khalidiya, one of Sharjah's main arteries and minutes from the Dubai border. If you live in Sharjah, Ajman or the Al Nahda and Al Mamzar stretch either side of the boundary, this is the closer table by a wide margin — and usually the quieter one. Call +971 6 565 8255.

Common questions

Is the menu different between the two?

No. The same dishes are cooked at both — masgouf, quzi, Erbil kebab, patcha, dolma, kubba, tashreeb and the Iraqi breakfast. The full menu with prices applies to both branches.

Are the prices the same?

Yes. Quzi is AED 88 at either branch, Erbil kebab AED 88, the mixed grill AED 88.

Do both open until 3am?

Both, every day, 09:00 to 03:00 — including the Iraqi breakfast from opening.

Which one delivers to me?

Online ordering is a single service covering Dubai and Sharjah, so you do not pick a branch. Order online and it is routed for you. Delivery is AED 20, card payment only, with 5% VAT added at checkout.

Can I book a table?

Yes, at either — reserve a table and choose the branch on the form. Worth doing for Deira on a weekend evening.

If it is your first visit

Go to whichever is closer and order the same three things: Erbil kebab, something from the charcoal grill, and quzi if there are more than two of you. Our guide to what to order at an Iraqi restaurant sets out the rest.
